Firapy exhibited in the Japanese Society of Lower Limb Salvation & Podiatry for the first time.
Japanese Society of Lower Limb Salvation & Podiatry was established in 2009 by Ohura Takehiko, the Emeritus Professor of Hokkaido University. This organization is committed to lower extremity ulcers, which was caused by Peripheral artery disease (PAD), diabetic foot and other factors, including epidemiological survey, standard therapy, guideline development and new discovery of treatment. Members include doctors of Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, Metabolism, Nephrology, Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics, Dermatology, and Rehabilitation, as well as nurses, CKD Guards, Diabetes Physicians, Vascular Measurement Technicians, and Prosthetic Installation Technicians. It is currently the most influential organization in the field of lower limb ischemia and wounds.
In 2015, the organization began to participate in Abe’s osteopathic policy with the theme of “Prevention of Severe Lower Extremity Acute Diseases*”, and team up with six Japanese societies (to promote the ‘management of lower extremity peripheral arterial disease in dialysis patients to get 100 point （1月につき）’ policy, which was implemented in 2016. The policy based on all the hemodialysis center in Japan and the blood circulation of the lower limbs of dialysis patients was monitored early and promptly referred to the hospital with a foot care specialist to avoid the deterioration of the disease.
This year’s annual academic congress was held in Sapporo from July 13th to 14th. WS Company was invited by Professor Takaura Takehiko, the current chairman of the organization, to present FIRAPY in the Congress for the first time. At this Congress, there were two hospitals published case report of using Firapy, one hospital is the Kasugabe Central General Hospital in Saitama Prefecture, and the other is the Central Hospital of Sangyuan in Sapporo. Both hospitals are post-hospital with foot care specialists, providing rescue for patients with severe lower limbs disease.
The Kasugabe Central General Hospital published ‘The case of using far-infrared treatment for patients with severe lower limb ischemia’ 《重症下肢虚血患者に遠赤外線治療を使用した1例》, and the central hospital of Sangyuan published ‘the thermotherapy experience of Using FIRAPY ~ the poorly matured AVF~ PAD patients《フィラピーを使用した温熱療法の経験〜シャント発育不良・PAD患者への試み〜》.
Because of Professor Ohura highly values Firapy, and there were two wonderful oral reports, FIRAY became the highlight of the Congress. Many cardiovascular surgeons and plastic surgeons also visited WS Company’s booth and shared their experience of using Firapy. They keep optimistic and look forward to the long-term benefits of using FIRPAY.
