Our cooperation hospital in Korea published a paper in “Kidney Research and Clinical Practice” journal about “Clinical utility of far-infrared therapy for improvement of vascular access blood flow and pain control in hemodialysis patients”.

We comprehensively renewed brand to be “Firapy”.

The newly publications which used FIRAPY to investigate it’s effect on nerves repairmen. The title of the paper is “Far-Infrared Therapy Promotes Nerve Repair following End-to-End Neurorrhaphy in Rat Models of Sciatic Nerve Injury” and published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicin.

We attended the 9^th Vascular Access Society (VAS) at Barcelona, Spanish.

We attended 52nd European Renal Association-European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA) in the UK.

In the conference, we show the results of scientific study of our product on hemodialysis. The effectiveness of Firapy attract attendees’ attention.

The 60^th Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy (JSDT) was held in Yokohama, Japan. This is the first time we use the new brand name “Firapy” to exhibit. It’s also as a notification that our device will be listed in Japan.

The three-day Dialysis Access Symposium (DAS) was held at the Conference Center of Grand Walkerhill in Seoul, South Korea. In particular, two physicians from Taiwan who apply Firapy on fistula very well were invited to share their experience of Firapy.

● Our device was exhibited on Japanese Society of Dialysis Access (JSDA) in Hiroshima, Japan.

● The 9^th International Congress of the International Society for Hemodialysis (ISHD) was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this year. There are three Malaysian physicians share their preliminary result of the clinical trials of Firapy.

● We were invited to participate and exhibit our product in the 14^th Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology (APCN) by the president, professor Yasuhiko Tomino. This is also our first time to show our product in Japan.
● The new model, KP-B210, is specifically designed for the hemodialysis patients. This model is smaller, desktop, and the irradiation area can completely cover fistula. It’s applicable to the forearm or upper arm and easy apply for taking care fistula at home by the patient themselves. We look forward that this model can completely improve the healthcare of vascular access.

● We participated in the 51st European Renal Association-European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA) in Netherlands. Our new model, KP-B210, a new model specifically designed for the kidneys is also making its debut in Europe.

● We attended the 59th Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy (JSDT) in Kobe, Japan.

Khalid Bashar, a British vascular surgeon, has reviewed and analyzed the results of several far-infrared related papers, and the analysis result is published in the PloS One. In this study, it also reconfirms the effectiveness of Firapy in the fistula.

A newly publication “Far-infrared Therapy as a Novel Treatment for Encapsulating Peritoneal Sclerosis” was published on The American Journal of GASTROENTEROLOGY.

We start to cooperate with Malaysian distributor, AIM MEDICAL SUPPLIES.

The study “Length polymorphisms of heme oxygenase-1 determine the effect of far-infrared therapy on the function of arteriovenous fistula in hemodialysis patients: a novel physicogenomic study” was published in Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation. This study shows that dialysis patients with specific constitution have a better response to far-infrared radiation therapy.

We met with the Research Team of the University of Cincinnati who focus on dialysis vascular access and discussed the feasibility of Firapyin to do the clinical trial in the United States.

We participated in the Annual Meeting of the European Renal Association – European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA) and World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) in May. We used the slogan “Fistula First, Maturation First – Effective Solution of Vascular Access Problem” to show the effectiveness of Firapy on AVF maturation.

The clinical and basic study which was cooperation between WS and Nephrology department of Taipei Veterans General Hospital was published in American Journal of Kidney Diseases (AJKD). The title is “Effect of Far Infrared Therapy on Arteriovenous Fistula Maturation: An Open-Label Randomized Controlled Trial”. This study provides clear scientific evidence for the use of far-infrared to improve the fistula maturation.

Newly publication: “Effects of far-infrared radiation on heart rate variability and central manifestations in healthy subjects” was published in Journal of Lasers in Medical Sciences.
